Actually Reading the Book I’m Named After (And All of Stephen King’s Other Work)

Before reading:  I'm very excited to read Gerald's Game! I really enjoyed the movie when it came out. To be honest, I had never heard of it until the movie. Since getting more into Stephen King I do know that people enjoy this book. I am also excited to get a woman-led story for the first time since Carrie (yes, Carrie,  as in his first book written in the 70's). Here we go! After reading:  Whew. That was a short book but it was a tense read. That was a very dark, emotional, scary read. It takes a lot out of you. I definitely would not call this an easy read by any means. I did enjoy it and like the book but I don't think I'd read it again. While I think the book was better than the movie, I prefer the movie. That was a very heavy book. I almost want to take a King break and read a funny story to cleanse myself after that one. Before reading:  This is another one of King's books that I had heard of but knew nothing about. During my time reading all of King's work I have learned a little bit about this one, however. I know that it is supposed to be the last of the Castle Rock tales, it is the sequel to Sun Dog , and it is about a shop. However, that is all that I know. I am excited to see what it is all about.  After reading: I don't know if I'm crazy or if that was really good. That was one of the most enjoyable King books, in my opinion. I've seen many comments by people saying this one is their favorite or they consider it a hidden gem and I can see why. I really enjoyed this book and I'm a little sad it's over...like over over.
