Actually Reading the Book I’m Named After (And All of Stephen King’s Other Work)

  Before Reading: I have absolutely no idea what this book is. The name feels vaguely familiar but I was definitely surprised to see it next on the list. No clue what I'm getting myself into! I did read a synopsis and I kind of feel like I spoiled it for myself a little bit. It seems interesting enough and I hope it's a good read! I did check how many pages there were and it seems totally doable so I'm ready and excited! Hopping on a plane here in a few days so I'm hoping this will be a good little vacation read.  After Reading:  If you could go back in time and kill Hitler, would you? That is essentially what this book is about even if you don't realize that until near the end. No surprise, this book took me forever to read. But hey, I finished it.   Before reading: The Stand is one of my favorite Stephen King adaptations. I was obsessed with the mini series growing up and have watched it all the way through quite a few times. I, surprisingly, have yet to read it. So I am super excited to get to read it because I know it can only be better than the mini series. I know there is currently a new tv adaption (which, subsequently, hiked up the price for the book) that unfortunately I won't be watching but that's a story for a completely different blog. This is also going to be the first large (over 1,000 pages) book that I've read for this little adventure and it's also going to be the largest book that I've read with a digital copy. So hopefully I won't be writing the "after reading" too far in the future....   Before reading: I know almost nothing about Night Shift. I know my sister has a copy that I'm going to try to steal so that I don't have to buy it, myself. I also know (think) that it is short stories. Unlike The Bachman Books where those are short stories that were published separately and then put together in a book later, these are a collection of short stories that make up one book. I'm not sure if there are any more well-known stories that are in this collection but I'm going to find out!  *Because there are multiple stories in this collection, I am going to do mini reviews for each on this page.  Before reading thoughts : The Shining! I'm very excited to read this. I had no idea it would come this early in the list and it was a pleasant surprise. I feel like this is one of those books that is on everyone's "to read" list. I'm a huge fan of the movie (isn't everyone?) but I know that there are some major major differences between the two. I don't really know what those differences are, though... So I'm excited to find out. I also get very confused when I watch the movie...am I the only one? I feel like Kubrick threw in some stuff from the book but never explained what it was or what it meant.
